Samsung leads in shipping the most mobiles in Q1 2022

Samsung again leads in Smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2022 beating all its competitors with a 24 percent market share. Only Samsung and Apple make increased and the rest of the brands have lost market share in the first quarter of 2022.

Although Global smartphone shipment fell by 11% in Q1 of 2022. Samsung leads in Q1 2022 with a 24 percent market share and Samsung makes almost 10 percent growth if we compare it with the first quarter of 2021.

Other Brands

Apple’s market share increased by 20% compared to 18% the previous year. Xiaomi has lost about 8% market share compared to last year with a 13% market share. Oppo and Vivo, owned by BBK Electronics, also lost market share over the previous year. Oppo has lost 10% market share with 10% market share. Vivo has also lost a 20% market share over the previous year with an 8% market share.

Samsung shipped an estimated 72 million smartphones in the first quarter, according to Counterpoint Research with an almost 10 percent growth rate. Due to the late release of Samsung S22 seres the Sales get down 11 percent from the previous year.

Although the Sales of S22 were Boosted by 50 percent from the previous model S21 according to Sujeong Lim, an associate director at Counterpoint. Lim said “Samsung estimates that the S22 series will ship just over 6 million units by the end of March and also said the initial sales were in beat their expectations.
